Catherine Shaw

Founder & Visionary Leader

Catherine Shaw is the heart behind SNAP Life. After her own diagnosis with Osteoporosis, Catherine turned her personal journey into a powerful mission: to reimagine bone health care with empathy, education, and innovation.

Backed by a strong background in health sciences and bone health advocacy, Catherine has created a platform that empowers people of all ages to take control of their well-being. Her lived experience, combined with strategic collaborations with leading medical experts, ensures that SNAP Life delivers trusted, user-friendly solutions rooted in real life and real science.

"I created SNAP Life because I know what it's like to face bone health challenges – and I believe no one should go through it alone."

Dr Abbas Ismail is a Consultant Rheumatologist with more than 20 years' experience in rheumatology and metabolic bone health. A graduate of Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, he has worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist in the NHS since the year 2000. He also works in private practice at The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle and Spire Regency Hospital, Macclesfield in the United Kingdom.

He has extensive experience in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, including bone fragility and Paget's disease, alongside a longstanding interest in improving the understanding and management of bone health.

Dr Ismail supports SNAP Life by providing clinical insight and guidance as we develop our bone-health education and resources, helping us maintain an evidence-informed approach and appropriate clinical perspective.

"People living with osteoporosis and those looking to protect their bone health need clear, accessible information and support beyond the clinical consultation. SNAP Life has been created to help people better understand their bone health and engage with the everyday factors that can support it."
